San Jose del Cabo Vacations
by Caitlin Moore
From Spanish military outpost
to vacation destination extraordinaire, San Jose del Cabo has long been
providing an attractive and intriguing place to stop in for a visit. In
contrast to Cabo San Lucas just a few miles away, this beach haven is more
about relaxing than partying, and makes for an excellent spot to soak in
the sun, watch the waves, and just be.
Much of San Jose del Cabo's
charm lies in its Spanish heritage, which comes through in the architecture
of the town's buildings and in the general atmosphere as well. Something
about this place is a little exotic, a little different; this spells good
things for vacationers who are in no mood to experience the same old scene
that's existed since spring break of '79. San Jose del Cabo offers a more
grown-up vibe, and it's irresistible.
That's not to say this place
is boring. Quite the contrary; San Jose del Cabo is all about having a
good time, just in laid-back way. You can't be in Baja, California without
feeling free to do what you like, so unwind and take advantage of all that
the sunny coast has to offer. The Sea of Cortez on one side and the Pacific
on the other spell stunning scenery and ample choices for doing the things
you've been daydreaming about. Barco Varado, Chileno and Palmilla are a
few excellent beaches to consider.
Start things off with a bang
with something as simple as spending your first day lounging on the beach;
awaken your senses by letting the sun warm your skin. Thread your toes
through the soft sand and then plunge into the salty ocean and cleanse
yourself of all stress and strain. Once you've rediscovered your zest for
life, it'll be time to get active. Rent a surfboard or some snorkel gear
to become better acquainted with the deep blue sea, and feel the rush of
adrenaline surging through your veins. It's been a while, hasn't it?
After this, put on your sandals
and head to town. Wandering the streets will take you to another time,
when technology hadn't yet begun to interfere with silence and calm. Check
out all the old churches and 18th century structures, appreciating the
care that the community has taken to preserve its colorful past. Stop at
a unique store to pick up a souvenir that will actually do justice to this
trip, and then satisfy your hunger (and your thirst) with a yummy south
of the border meal and a cerveza or two. A day like this will do wonders
for you and will set you up for some of the best sleep of your life.
If your visit falls between
January and March, you might be lucky enough to catch the amazing sight
of migrating whales. Set yourself up on Magdalena Bay and keep your eyes
open for the great beasts to poke their heads above water or perhaps put
on a little show by leaping towards the sky. Follow this with a mini cruise
that will show you the islets that surround San Jose del Cabo as an expert
points out notable details. Here's a hint: make it a sunset cruise for
a dazzling and romantic experience you won't soon forget.
Golf, horseback riding, kayaking
and simply strolling around are a few more activities that will keep you
happy and engaged in your surroundings. Pamper yourself at a spa and then
enjoy a quiet nightcap with your love for the perfect end to the ultimate
day. Hopefully you'll let yourself forget about the responsibilities of
work and allow yourself to truly relax; see if you can go the whole time
without checking your email or turning on your cell phone.
Top it all off by ensuring
that you and your companions will live in comfort while you're here. Book
a San Jose del Cabo Vacation Rental that will seemingly anticipate your
every need and provide this trip with an extra touch of class, style and
convenience. Go online to view the possibilities, and prepare to feel the
warm embrace of this lovely location.
